Mount House is a charming Georgian home full of vintage and antique furniture, hand-made furnishings and collected artifacts – not forgetting some taxidermy, ammonites and other local fossils dotted around. Relax, unwind and enjoy this unique and historic house with captivating views.

Hosted by Ruth, the house is situated at the heart of Whitby’s West Cliff, part of the historic conservation area & within easy walking distance of most of Whitby’s many attractions and fascinating heritage.

Mount House is easy to find: half way along Cliff street, at the kink in the road, the house stands in a gated courtyard. The first thing you will notice is the extraordinary view across Whitby’s harbour to the Abbey and sea.

Mount House has two charming guest rooms on the first floor. Wi-Fi is available, but there are no televisions or kettles. However, you are most welcome to make tea or coffee in the kitchen during your stay.
